Happy Valentines Day!!

Wow, I've missed a few days of posts! Sorry about that folks. I've been busy with my "addiction" to second life. Lol! The last 2 days haven't been super interesting. Miles had a horrible night on the 12th which left us all very drowsy the 13th. He was up pretty much every hour. Reminded me why I'm not having any babies anytime soon! lol.
Deven has joined in on my addiction as well, and so we were both playing SL until about 10:30 last night. We had to make a new rule... No SL when the laundry needs doing. Lol!
Now.. Today.. Is that wonderful day called Valentines day... The day to show your lover just how much you love them - and if your single, treat your best friend to something nice! But why do we celebrate Valentines day?  We celebrate Easter because it's the day Christ became a zombie, rising from the grave and all - or if you're atheist - for the chocolate. We celebrate Christmas because it's supposed to be the celebration of Christ - his birthday - even though if memory serves me right, it isn't his birthday at all.. Halloween was originally a pagan holiday.. So whats Valentines day really about?

Well wikipedia says;
Saint Valentine's Day, often simply Valentine's Day, is a holiday observed on February 14 honoring one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentinus. It was first established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD, and was later deleted from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI. It is celebrated in countries around the world, mostly in the West, although it remains a working day in all of them.
The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. By the 15th century, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines").
Modern Valentine's Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.
 So there you have it!
If you're interested in reading more on this subject, I'd suggest heading over to wikipedia. The rest of this article includes historical facts, legends... I find it all very interesting!
